Southern Pasifika V165 – Important Vessel Update.
To all valued Sofrana customers:
Following our most recent update, we have had some important news from the owners regarding the current breakdown of the vessel in Noumea.
After initial feedback that the vessel may be delayed for up to two weeks, the engineers have found that the vessel has a broken crankshaft. This is a similar breakdown to that which we experienced in January this year and without a doubt, it is an extraordinary breakdown.
Unlike the earlier situation where the crankshaft was fixed, this time the damage is as such, the crankshaft will need to be fully replaced, which will result in excessive delays.
As previously advised we have unloaded all cargo that was destined to Noumea.
Our priority is to ensure:
· Speedy delivery of your current cargo on board V. 165 to Wallis and Futuna. · Secure additional tonnage to replace the Southern Pasifika while the vessel is being repaired.
We will revert shortly with the details of the replacement vessel that will deliver the cargo ex voyage 165.
We envisage that the replacement tonnage we will secure should be around the same time V. 166 was due to depart Auckland.
We will keep you updated as soon as we have fixed these two vessels.
We sincerely appreciate your patience and understanding. Should you have any queries or require additional information please contact your local Sofrana agent.
Yours faithfully
