Sofrana has been supporting an Adventure Racing Team all year, for the last 4 years. Team Sofrana participate on average, 10 events every year, internationally and locally. Events include, orienteering, trail runs, mountain bike competitions, kayak and adventure races.

The last big event team Sofrana participated in was the “Blue Trail” in Vanuatu and they finished first in the mixed womens/mens division.

The next big event is called “Dream Raid” which will take place in New Caledonia from the 07th of November through to the 11th of November. All teams will be covering a total distance of 350km over the 5 days. Each team has 4 participants and 2 support crew, each doing trekking, kayaking, orienteering, mountain biking and horse riding.

Pacific Action are a sail manufacturing company which are used for kayaks and canoes. They have provided all sails to the Sofrana Racing Team for the Dream Raid event. The sail makes long distance kayaking trips (such as the event above) a lot faster. The kayaker still paddles as normal, but can cover much more distance in a shorter time frame.
