With effect from 1st May 2008 Sofrana will be introducing a Melbourne Port Channel Infrastructure Fee, applicable to all import & export and transshipment cargo moving in or out of the Port of Melbourne.

AUD31.50 per 20’ Container AUD63.00 per 40’ Container

The introduction of this charge is by way of a direct recovery of the fee charged by the Port of Melbourne to all users, for the costs involved in the Channel Deepening Project.

The increase comes into effect from:

We do sincerely regret having to pass these increased costs on, however we are unable to absorb such significant increases in the very competitive market we operate within.
