Inter-island BAF review
Between Tonga and the Samoas
Over the past few weeks’ global fuel prices have reached new record high levels, with the most recent spike in prices having started its ascent during September 2007.
It has been 18 months since we last reviewed our BAF and over this period prices have increased in excess of 45%. With no sign on the horizon that prices will materially ease in the near future, we are left with little option but to adjust our BAF to reflect this significant cost change in operating our business.
We have now completed a review of our baf, covering the Inter-island trade between Tonga and the Samoa’s and visa versa and accordingly wish to advise that effective from11 January 2008, the BAF will be increasing by +10%, from +25.0% to:
BAF +35 %
The new BAF will come into affect from the following vessel/voyages: -
Southern Lily V192 eta Nuku’alofa 14/01, Apia 15/01 and Pago Pago 16/01
