Sofrana wish to inform the trade, that we are implementing a General Rate Increase (G.R.I) on the New Zealand to Papua New Guinea trade lane of

v NZ$200 per 20’ container for Dry & Reefer Cargo

v NZ$400 per 40’ container for Dry & Reefer Cargo

v NZ$10 per r/t for break bulk

This G.R.I will come into effect from 25 June 2007, with the commencement vessel/voyage being:

Sofrana Kermadec V133, Eta Tauranga 28 June & Auckland 30 June 2007

This GRI is as a result of continuing and material increases in vessel charter costs, caused by a scarcity of suitable vessels, fuelled by buoyant global trade flows.

As a consequence of this, the present rate levels are unsustainable and hence the need for this is GRI. This increase is necessary to ensure that regular & reliable shipping services are maintained on this important trade lane for the future.

A representative of Sofrana in either New Zealand, Papua New Guinea will be in contact with you within a week to advise you of our revised freight rates.

Yours faithfully

Sofrana Unilines NZ Ltd
