As you may be aware, the Southern Pasifika sustained some damage in the recent storm conditions that she encountered during voyage 156. The vessel returned to Auckland for assessment and repair.

In 2002 Sofrana introduced a documentation fee in order to assist in covering the costs of issuing your shipping documentation, since this time we have seen an increase in the costs associated with this process, but have maintained our original charge.
TO ALL VALUED SOFRANA CUSTOMERS:
Since our last review just two months ago, global fuel prices have risen by an unprecedented USD26 per barrel. This in turn results in a +20% increase in our fuel costs, even after taking into account the easing of oil prices towards the later part of last week.

The overall change in fuel prices over the past quarter has been dramatic. Please be advised that if this trend continues unabated, we will move to reviewing fuel costs on a more frequent basis (presently quarterly). This is likely to be monthly.

With effect from 15 July 2008 Sofrana will be introducing a Late Receival Fee across all main PNG ports for all export cargoes, at the following rates:
